Buying guide
What size base does a round table need?
A base that spans about half to two-thirds of the top keeps it steady.
Base width
| Top diameter | Base across the feet |
|---|---|
| 90 cm | 45–60 cm |
| 110 cm | 55–75 cm |
| 120 cm | 60–80 cm |
| 140 cm | 70–95 cm |
The size of each base is on its product page. Glass and stone tops are heavy, so choose the wider end of the range.
Seats by diameter
A 90–100 cm round top seats four, 110–120 cm seats four to six, and 140–150 cm seats six to eight.
Square and oval tops
Size the base from the shortest side of a square top or the width of an oval one. Long oval tops are steadier on two bases or a pair of legs.
Height
A dining table stands 74–76 cm with the top on. Height guide.
