How to choose a base for a round table

Base size

For a steady table the feet should span about half to two-thirds of the top’s diameter. A 120 cm top wants a base about 65–80 cm across; each product page gives the size. Heavy stone tops need the wider end of that range. Base size guide.

Top size and seats

A 90–100 cm round top seats four, 110–120 cm seats four to six, and 140–150 cm seats six to eight.

Square and oval tops

Centre bases work under square and oval tops too: size the base from the shortest side or the width.

Height

Dining tables stand 74–76 cm with the top on. Add the thickness of your top to the base height on the product page.
