How to choose dining table legs

Height

Most dining tables stand 74–76 cm tall with the top on. Take the leg height from the product page and add the thickness of your top. Need a different height? We make it to your size. How tall should table legs be?

Width

Pick legs 10–20 cm narrower than the depth of your top, so it overhangs 5–10 cm at each side. A 90 cm deep top sits well on 70–80 cm legs.

Position

Set the legs 20–40 cm in from each end, so chairs fit at the ends and nobody hits a knee. The table planner works out width and position for your top. Sizing guide for dining tables.

A pair of legs or a centre base

Frame legs (X, square, trapezoid) suit long rectangular tops. A centre base (cross, star, spider) keeps the ends free and suits round, square and shorter tops.
